Daniele Di Virgilio is an Italian Berlin-based composer and perpetual researcher. Conceiving composition as a multi-disciplinary and social-oriented expression, his music is inspired by a theatrical imagination and focuses on manipulating and transfiguring human archetypes and cultural references, culminating in the grotesque. Awarded by Krzysztof Penderecki, Pascal Dusapin and Magnus Lindberg, his works have been commissioned, performed and promoted by renowned ensembles and institutions, such as Mito Settembre Musica, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, JACK Quartet, Fidelio Trio, Avanti! Chamber Orchestra, Quatour Lontano, Divertimento Ensemble, Peter Eötvös Foundation, Vacuum Quartet, Riga “Ave Sol” Chamber Choir, Zone Experimentale Basel, Barcelona Modern, impuls Festival.
